The red is gone! Yes, it's true, we had a lot of pink, gold and silver with our Marie Antoinette theme during Christmas, but we also had a lot of red...a lot. And then Valentine's Day, with it's hearts and flowers, brought even more red...so much more! But Cupid and his holiday have flown away, and now comes our favorite time of the year: Spring, glorious Spring, with it's rose pinks, lavenders, grass greens, sky blues, and buttercup yellows. And with Spring comes, once again, our annual Bee-Day, the birthday celebration of the store. Of course, "Bee-Day" is a play on words since it is our "birthday" and the store's official mascot is a bee. The festivities will take place on Saturday, March 1, 2014. The store is 14 years old, but we will be celebrating our 15th Bee-Day, as the first was celebrated on the day the store opened, on February 19th, 2000. Like always, we've been busy as bees prepping the store by ordering new items, and creating fresh displays to give the store a whole new look.
We've received boxes and boxes of new silk flowers, in a myriad of colors, to fill the store. We have one entire table display dedicated to St. Patrick's Day, including signs, soaps, and other goodies, and featuring paper garlands from Paul & Company. Tables are chock-a-block full of Easter and spring decor: a plethora of tablecloths and table-runners, cards, arrangements, wreaths, decorative eggs, and bunny and chick-themed decor; papier mache figurines by Bethany Lowe; old-fashioned paper banner garlands by Paul & Company, whimsical wooden signs by Susan; and adorable paper creations and pillows by Kathy. Aside from the seasonal decor, we have a store full of items sure to tempt any discerning customer: from dish sets to tea towels, glass-domed cake stands to large wall clocks, furniture to artwork, and so much more.
See you down on Main Street!
